Finland's development cooperation in Kosovo was based on Finland's Development Policy Programme. Kosovo was Finland's development cooperation's focus country in the Balkans. Finland's bilateral development cooperation projects in Kosovo have finished.
Finland has supported numerous projects since the beggining, however the following projects were the last ones funded from bilateral cooperation and concluded in 2016:
Support for the implementation of Kosovo's Forestry Strategy in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development. FAO.
Support for decentralization, developing the local governance in Serbian municipalities and strengthening minority rights. European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI).
Support for addressing gender based violence through strengthening the municipality level capacities to implement the national strategy against domestic violence. UNDP, OHCHR, UNFPA, UNICEF and UNWOMEN.
Designing models to draw diaspora investments to Kosovo and supporting the Ministry of Diaspora. UNDP and IOM.
Developing Kosovo's trade capacities through support for private sector and the Ministry for Trade and Industry. UNDP.
Developing Kosovo's labour market institutions, supporting the Ministry for Labour and Social Welfare and providing employment schemes for youth and vulnerable groups. UNDP.
