The Europe Day was celebrated in Kosovo on the 9th of May and the Embassy of Finland in Pristina took part in the festivities. The Embassy shared information and offered tastes of Finland as a part of the Learn Europe - Taste Europe event organized in Pristina by the EU Information and Cultural Center. European Union Office in Kosovo also organizes several other Europe Day 2016 activities throughout Kosovo from 6 until 15 May including sporting and cultural activities as well as live concerts.

The Europe Day celebrates peace and unity in Europe and the anniversary of the historical 'Schuman declaration'. At his speech in Paris in 1950 Robert Schuman set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would develop into the European Union.
