Visa application centre opens in Kosovo to ease applying for a Schengen visa

Finland is outsourcing the submission of Schengen visa applications in Kosovo. Finland's Visa Application Centre maintained by VFS Global will be opened in Pristina in May 2017. The new Visa Application Centre will make it easier to apply for a Schengen visa.

An appointment at the Visa Application Centre can be booked beforehand and the application can be completed electronically. The applicant must always submit the application in person and must give his or her biometrics.

Even after the Visa Application Centre has opened, the Embassy processes the applications and makes all the visa decisions. The Embassy will continue handling all residence permit and passport applications.

At the moment it is not possible to book new visa appointments to the Embassy. The appointments already scheduled for March – May will remain as agreed. The appointments to the Embassy for June – July will be transferred to Visa Application Centre and the applicants will be informed in person.

A new website for visa applicants will be launched during the spring 2017. More information will be provided on a later date.
